Bradford’s cultural sector has achieved incredible things during Bradford 2025, and sustainability has been at the heart of that journey. But what comes next? How do we build on this momentum to create a resilient, connected, and sustainable future for our organisations and communities?

SAIL are running a series of 3 deep dive workshops to focus on some of the key issues and barriers faced by cultural organisations and freelancers when it comes to taking climate action and reducing your carbon footprint. 

Audience Mobility & Sustainable Travel

Audience travel is by far the biggest carbon impact for the cultural sector, but organisations consistently struggle to make sense of the data they collect and rarely utilise it to change audience behaviour. 

This workshop will:

  • Share insights on audience travel habits and behaviours across the Bradford district
  • Introduce how to accurately calculate the impact of audience travel
  • Demonstrate how simple interventions such as venue location, event timing and communications can lead to a measurable reduction in audience travel emissions
  • Showcase speakers from the Bradford Cultural sector who are taking action in this space
  • Connect peers to discuss common challenges and opportunities

This training is part of The Bradford Way, a consortium initiative
supported by over £1m from Arts Council England’s Place Partnership
Fund. The programme, led by The Leap, Bradford Producing Hub, Bradford
Council, and Bradford Cultural Voice Forum, is designed to strengthen
Bradford’s cultural and creative industries through training,
investment, and collaboration.

partner, they will process your financial information including your
bank account details. This information is collected in order to:
administer the grant, bursary, access costs, training course, or event;
and for monitoring and programme evaluation purposes.

and grant, training course and/or event information will be shared with
The Bradford Way consortium partners to identify additional ways we can
support you. No further information will be shared with The Bradford
