The creative and cultural industries are increasingly expected to show leadership on sustainability, from Arts Council England funding requirements to Bradford Council’s climate commitments and the district’s ambition to reach net zero by 2038.
This free, interactive training session is designed to equip Bradford’s creative and cultural sector with the knowledge and practical tools needed to embed sustainability into day-to-day working.
Delivered by SAIL (sustainability partners for Bradford 2025, UK City of Culture and delivery partners for The Bradford Way) the session will cover:
- The climate crisis and what it means for the cultural sector
- Understanding Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions in practical terms
- How to reduce impact across energy, travel, materials and waste
- Aligning your work with funder expectations and local net zero targets
- Real examples of low-carbon approaches from Bradford and beyond
- How to access follow-up one-to-one support to co-create your own sustainability action plan
Who should attend
This session is open to everyone either based in, or working in, the Bradford District creative and cultural sector, including:
- Individual artists and freelancers
- Grassroots and community groups
- Small and medium-sized organisations
- Larger cultural institutions
- Not-for-profits, CICs, commercial organisations or educational institutions

About The Bradford Way
This training is part of The Bradford Way, a consortium initiative supported by over £1m from Arts Council England’s Place Partnership Fund. The programme, led by The Leap, Bradford Producing Hub, Bradford Council, and Bradford Cultural Voice Forum, is designed to strengthen Bradford’s cultural and creative industries through training, investment, and collaboration.

Your name and grant, training course and/or event information will be shared with The Bradford Way consortium partners to identify additional ways we can support you. No further information will be shared with The Bradford Way consortium partners unless you have opted in via a consent form.
