Project Constellation: UK Sustainability Network of Networks

Posted Case study, News, Press

Constellation is a dynamic “network of networks” where regional creative and cultural networks unite quarterly to share progress, successes, challenges, and explore collaboration and funding opportunities. Constellation embraces a broad community as illustrated by the map above.

Constellation aims to:

  • Accelerate progress across all networks by shared learning and distributing valuable resources such as Carbon Literacy Training
  • Support national frameworks such as Albert and Julies Bicycle through a local and regional approach
  • Encourage the development of new networks in localities without existing networks
  • Support national frameworks with local approaches and support new networks in areas without existing ones.

“We always come away from the sessions feeling incredibly inspired by the work that everyone is doing, their attitudes and the subjects discussed. It’s really great to not feel like we’re on our own”

Joining Process

New networks can be put forward to join the group if they align with the following criteria:

  • Networks must be formed of at least 2 stakeholder organisations/ individuals
  • New networks can join at any stage in their development, from being initial conversation, to being a fully constituted organisation
  • The focus of the group must be on embedding sustainability within the context of their local, regional, or grassroots level in the creative and cultural sector
  • Upon joining, each network must identify one or two key stakeholder contacts with which the Project Constellation Group can contact directly
  • Geographical remits of networks can overlap. In the instance that there is multiple networks covering the same geographical scope we will invite those networks to meet independently and discuss how they can collaborate effectively and contribute to the group
