Stories From The Hub

Posted Case study, News

We are pleased to launch the first edition of Stories From The Hub, a new publication from the SAIL Resource Hub that highlights the growing momentum around circularity within the creative and cultural sector in West Yorkshire.

This series is designed to showcase examples of how individuals and organisations are embracing reuse, collaboration, and resource sharing to reduce waste and reimagine materials. Through storytelling, we aim to build understanding of what circular practice looks like in action, celebrate the people driving change, and inspire others to take part!

This first edition features case studies from Clare Townley, Bradford Movie Makers, Bradford 2025 Year of Culture, Leeds City College, Freehand Theatre, and Bronagh Daly from Leeds Church Institute.

Between January and April 2025, the SAIL Resource Hub has recorded:
499 items donated
54 items rehomed
• An estimated 5.43 tonnes of CO₂e avoided through reuse and redistribution

These figures demonstrate how collective, local action can contribute to environmental impact reduction, while supporting the resource needs of artists, organisations, and creative practitioners across the region.

We hope this publication offers both practical insight and inspiration. To explore the full stories and learn how you can get involved with the Hub, please read the full edition by clicking the link below:
