The cultural & creative industries have a responsibility to respond to the global climate emergency
We are here to help
Together we are stronger
Hands on support for real impact
SAIL helps the creative and cultural industries take real, practical steps toward sustainability, from frontline training to strategic consultancy, sector-wide collaboration, and resource sharing. We were founded by arts professionals who understand the unique challenges of the sector. Since 2018, we’ve supported organisations of all sizes to reduce emissions, cut waste, embed circular practices, and build long-term resilience, while also growing a membership network that connects hundreds of organisations across Yorkshire and beyond. We’re here to help you make progress, whether you’re looking for bespoke support, hands-on training, or just a community of likeminded people figuring it out together.

We don’t offer off-the-shelf solutions, everything we do is tailored to your organisation’s unique challenges and goals. Our impact
SAIL have been instrumental in helping Opera North tackle environmental sustainability challenges, by delivering Carbon Literacy Training to our staff, helping to understand and visualise our energy impact, and working with us to navigate the Theatre Green Book.
